Looking Back On… October 2024

29 October 2024

We take a look at some of this month’s highlights on FEI.org…

Germany became the inaugural winners of the Longines League of Nations™ during a busy month of sport action across the equestrian disciplines.

Paris 2024 Olympic Games champions Christian Kukuk & Checker 47 were part of the German team that triumphed in Barcelona (ESP). The Netherlands and Sweden also finished on the podium during what was a thrilling climax to the event’s first season.

Germany's Chef d’Equipe Otto Becker described the win as “a dream come true.” He added: “It’s always special to win here in Barcelona. My team did a great job, and I’m super, super happy.” Check out how they achieved their victory below...

Brilliant in Boekelo

October also saw the conclusion of the FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ series, with Boekelo (NED) playing host to what was an exciting finale. Team France already had the title sewn up after their impressive season. However, Germany and Great Britain were there to battle it out for second place overall, while all entrants were competing for glory in the prestigious Dutch event.

Team Ireland won the final leg of the series, securing their first triumph at Boekelo in nine years. The USA finished second and Germany’s third place was enough to see them end the season above Great Britain in the standings.

As well as series coming to an end, October also saw Dressage and Jumping stars begin their 2024-25 World Cup campaigns.

The Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Western European League got underway in Oslo (NOR) with Belgium’s Gregory Wathelet finishing first. The Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ season continued with wins for Robert Whitaker and – in North America – Jumping icon Rodrigo Pessoa.

In Dressage, the FEI Dressage World Cup™ Western European League began in Herning (DEN), and the home crowd were celebrating a Danish victory. Click here to find out who finished top of the podium!
