We look across the 'Gram for the best horsey pics, vids and fun!
October is a time of change as the leaves fall across much of the northern hemisphere and things start to heat up below the equator.
While the seasons switch, we are also seeing a new start for many of our equestrian sport favourites following the conclusion of the Olympic and Paralympic cycles at Paris 2024. Some equestrian stars simply couldn’t keep the excitement to themselves and have taken to social media to share news of additions to their stables!
With news of these big moves and action from some of our biggest competitions, check out our latest social media round-up to find out what’s been happening in the world of horses, Instagram, and #horsesofinstagram this month…
Jessica von Bredow-Werndl might have retired her Olympic champion mare Dalera, but we don’t expect to see her disappearing from the global stage. Especially now that she’s welcomed Times Kismet to her stable. We can’t wait to see this combination lighting up an arena near you soon!
While we’re on the topic of Olympic gold medallists and new rides, Henrik von Eckermann has taken over the reins of Azaria Dinero – who was previously competed by Evelina Tovek, one of his long-term students, who is pursuing a new career.
To all the trainers out there – we salute you. (And we’ll try and remember to use more leg next time!)
Caroline Harris can add her name to the history books, after winning her first 5* at Pau with D.Day. Harris has “worked for this her whole life” and had a 2024 straight out of a fairytale in her first year at 5* level, especially for a kid from a non-horsey family. #ridinginspo, anyone?
Another day, another Whitaker win! This time it was Robert, son of John, who took the title in the second leg of the Longines Jumping FEI World Cup™ Western European League series in Helsinki. And if we could put aside the phenomenal riding for just one second – who else is droooooling over Vermento the black stallion?
Congratulations to Lewis Carrier and his now-wife Olivia Robertson. We love a good equestrian love story; the pair met during the 2021 European Under 25 Championships in Hagen where Lewis competed on Team GB and Olivia was grooming for Lewis’ teammate!
The FEI Eventing European Championship venue for 2025 has been announced, and riders will compete at the famous Blenheim Palace from 18-21 September. Diarise the dates now so you don’t miss a moment!
Check out our latest RIDE episode, where we watch former hairdresser Jennie put those styling and cutting skills to the test in her new career as a competition groom. All we can say is that the turnout is exactly as good as you’d expect. Anyone keen to hire her for mane pulling, the easy way?
Ever thought about the other life paths you could have taken? For us, it’s mostly when your trip to the Maldives isn’t a fan of the expensive apples you bought him…
