Equestrian Insta Sensations in May 2024!

29 May 2024

We look across the 'Gram for the best horsey pics, news and fun!

It’s the final countdown to Paris 2024 and Olympic fever is hitting us hard!

Horses and riders are all preparing for the biggest show on the equestrian calendar, and we’ve seen setbacks, comebacks, and everything in between.

Here’s what we’ve all been talking about on Instagram this May…

The best part of watching videos your non-horse partner took after a show or lesson is always the commentary. Agree?

Cathrine Dufour and MSJ Freestyle made a formidable pair at the Danish championships, taking first place. Might they be contenders for another gold in Paris?

And that double canter pirouette straight into a trot pirouette? Well, we have only one question: HOW?

How do we become a stay at home? Not a stay-at-home wife, husband, dad, mom, or…anything. Just a stay at home. Where can we apply?!

British Equestrian has announced their long list of contenders for Paris, and there are some biiiig names as well as some rising stars of the future. We can’t wait to see everyone’s shortlists and start making predictions for who’ll take home the medals!

Think horsey social media is the perfect job? Well, it often involves a lot of carrots, a bit of bribery, and a whole lot of negotiating with a beautiful but opinionated partner who won't talk back. Challenging? Yes. But oh, so worth it!

Speaking of horsey jobs, the often-unsung heroes of our sport are definitely the dedicated grooms. Who else would willingly polish your boots before a test or get covered in freezing water trying to cool down a horse as it crosses the cross-country finish line?  A heartfelt thanks to all the grooms out there, especially John Madden who shared insights into this demanding job.

If we were betting people, we’d say the chances of King Edward and Henrik von Eckermann being on the podium in Paris are pretty high. Keep your eyes on this pair, who are on a serious medal roll.  Did you know this springy little chestnut gelding has more podiums at 1.60m level than any other horse?
