Think horsey social media is the perfect job? Well, it often involves a lot of carrots, a bit of bribery, and a whole lot of negotiating with a beautiful but opinionated partner who won't talk back. Challenging? Yes. But oh, so worth it!
Speaking of horsey jobs, the often-unsung heroes of our sport are definitely the dedicated grooms. Who else would willingly polish your boots before a test or get covered in freezing water trying to cool down a horse as it crosses the cross-country finish line? A heartfelt thanks to all the grooms out there, especially John Madden who shared insights into this demanding job.
If we were betting people, we’d say the chances of King Edward and Henrik von Eckermann being on the podium in Paris are pretty high. Keep your eyes on this pair, who are on a serious medal roll. Did you know this springy little chestnut gelding has more podiums at 1.60m level than any other horse?
