Equestrian Insta Sensations in February 2024!

28 February 2024

We look across the 'Gram for the best horsey pics and news!

The month of love has come and (almost) gone. Valentine’s Day might be a distant memory, but we’re still here swoooonnnning over some of the equines we’ve seen on Instagram this month!

Forget roses and chocolate; what truly sets our hearts aflutter are bales of hay, new gloves, and maybe a morning off from cleaning stables…

What would February be without a special photoshoot of your favourite girl or boy? Ok…fine…photoshoot number 1783…of the year. So far. But who’s counting?

February saw the start of the new Longines League of Nations™ series in Abu Dhabi. How about this for a stylish way to bring the new competition to life!

The only kind of smooches we’re accepting as Valentine’s Day offerings every year from now on are these ones. <3 Bay, chestnut, and even spotty noses also accepted!

Ever wondered what it feels like to jump a 1.50 Grand Prix? The answer is: scarily big! Check out this clear round from the helmet of Giacomo Bassi. Extra points if you can tell when he’s counting his strides in the related distances!

Here’s a little snippet of positive reinforcement in action. Instead of telling your horse off for fidgeting at the mounting block, try praising them when they think about standing still. Sounds simple, right? Read more about positive and negative reinforcement and see how it changes your approach to horsemanship!

Lars Kersten is the King of Gothenburg after taking the win in a hotly contested field for the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ qualifier. The youngest competitor – at only 24 – piloted his beautiful grey mare Hallilea to gold in a crazy fast time. Check out the winning round!

If there’s anything that’ll make you team OTTB for life, it’s this feeling. Double tap if you’ve felt it for yourself <3

Most horses can be messy. This one thinks it's Messi!
