At 22 years old, Chuffy Clarke seems to have the world at her feet as she enjoys her first year as a senior for Great Britain in the FEI Eventing Nations Cup™.

Chuffy - real name Genevieve – made her senior team debut at Houghton Hall.

She was part of a young British team that also included fellow debutant Katie Bleloch (pictured), and Holly Woodhead (pictured), who appeared for the first time on the FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ roster in 2017.

Ahead of this weekend’s FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ in Strzegom, Equestrian World caught up with Chuffy to find out more about her debut and ambitions within the sport…

Chuffy admits that the call-up to the senior team came somewhat out of the blue.

“I got the phone call on Monday morning after my last run at Chatsworth, where the horse did super,” she says.

“I was not expecting it at all. It's an honour really. I've been dreaming about being selected as a senior and I'm very lucky. This is my first year as being a senior so it's all come around you know nice and quickly.”

Chuffy talks us through her preparations for her appearance at Houghton Hall, and how she hopes her call-up can impact the rest of her career.

She says: “Pressure’s goods so I have got to learn to deal with it. Hopefully it will give me experience for one day hopefully doing Europeans, worlds and the Olympics. It gives you the idea of what it's like working with other people because the rest of the time you're on your own.”
