The 13th edition of the FEI Driving World Championship for Four-in-Hand was organised in Waregem (BEL). It was the first time that this event had been held in Belgium, thanks to the efforts of Jan De Clerk, a businessman but also a four-in-hand driver.
It was once again, as it had become customary, the host country that stole the show.
Individual gold went to Félix Brasseur, ahead of George Bowman (GBR) and Jozsef Bozsik (HUN). The team gold was Belgium’s as well with Braseur alongside Gert Schrijvers and Valére Standert on the winning team. Germany was awarded team silver followed by Great Britain in bronze.
Female drivers won medals for the first time. Karen Basset and Pippa Thomas from Great Britain were on the bronze winning team.
