The beautiful surroundings of Front Royal, VA (USA), the northern gateway to the Shenandoah Valley and Shenandoah National Park, known for outdoor recreation, the scenic beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah Wine Trail, and historical Civil War roots, provided the picturesque backdrop of the second FEI Endurance World Championship.
Sixty-four athletes gathered for the event.
All the individual medals went to American riders with Becky Hart riding R.O. Grand Sultan, who had placed last in the previous edition of the event, taking gold and John Crandall/G.T. Grisha and Jeannie Waldren/Cher Abu winning silver and bronze respectively.
Team gold went also to the US team, composed of Jeannie Waldren/Cher Abu; Mary Koefod/Dana’s Northlite; Connie Creech/L.S. Shareen; and Cassandra Schuler/R.R. Sotez.
Canada and France followed in silver and bronze respectively.
