Sporting philosophy / motto "Our sport generally attracts perfectionists and because we are working with an animal who has a body and mind of its own, perfection is rarely achieved. This motivates us to keep training, keep trying harder, keep striving for better and never give up." (fourwaysreview.co.za, 23 Mar 2017)
Other information OBSTACLES TO LIVING ABROAD
Having qualified for the 2018 World Equestrian Games [WEG], she decided to relocate to Germany to prepare for the event. Due to a European Union [EU] ban on horses arriving directly from South Africa because of an outbreak of African Horse Sickness [AHS] in 2011, her mount Campbell had to spend four months in quarantine, including three months in the Mauritius. The whole process lasted from November 2017 to March 2018. After placing 78th in the individual competition at the 2018 WEG in Tryon, NC, United States of America, she returned to Europe in order to prepare for the 2019 World Cup Final in Gothenburg, Sweden. "I have illustrated to people that it is possible to come to Europe and do what I've done. I've been very impressed and amazed by the support from South Africa, and I encourage people to do it. It would be every South African rider's dream to live and compete internationally, but there are a few obstacles that stand in our way."
