She was born in Canada and represented the nation at the Olympic Games in 1988, 2004, 2008 and 2012. However, after living in New York for 18 years, she became a US citizen in 2016. In March 2017 she announced that she would be competing as a US athlete, and made her debut for her new nation the following month at the Tryon CDI3* in North Carolina, United States of America.
