Biography
General Interest
Hero / Idol German equestrian Michael Jung. (hippo-sport.com, 19 Mar 2013)
Awards and honours In 2016 he was named a Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur [Knight of the Legion of Honour] by the president of France, in recognition of him winning gold in the team event at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. (ifce.fr, 02 Dec 2016)
Famous relatives His father Michael Lemoine has served as the director of the Equestrian Centre Bellefontaine in France. (francecomplet.fr, 15 May 2011)
Other information CHANGE OF BASE
In 2017 he moved to Ecurie de la Verriere in Cromieres, France, which is owned by French eventer Bertrand Vuatoux. Lemoine had previously spent 10 years based at Pierre Defrance's stables in Sandillon, France. As a result of his move, his partnership with Olympic gold medal-winning horse Bart L was ended due to Defrance being a co-owner of the horse. "I knew Bart was destined to be sold after the Games so I was prepared to lose [him]. It's up to me to move and fill this void. I'm well aware that this season may be a bit sad at the contest level but one day or another you have to go through it." (leperon.fr, 28 Feb 2017)
