In Memoriam: General Giovanni Marcone Terzago (ITA), 1915-2009
We regret to inform you of the death of General Giovanni Marcone Terzago (ITA), aged 94. His tremendous contributions to equestrian sport and the FEI have been numerous and varied, for which the equestrian world and the FEI is extremely grateful.
As International Judge, General Giovanni Marcone Terzago was foreign judge at over 100 CSIO and CSI World Cup events, as well as being Technical Delegate at two Olympic Games (Montreal 1976 and Moscow 1980), two World Championships (Hickstead 1974 & Aachen 1978), nine European Championships, and numerous Mediterranean Games, Balkan & Military Championships.
His experience also served the education of Jumping Judges, from Candidate to International level, and Course Designers and was also greatly valued on the FEI Jumping Committee, on which he served for over ten years. An honorary member of the FEI and Bureau member of the FISE, General Giovanni Marcone Terzago will be remembered for his optimism, energy and enthusiasm.
