27 August 2006
Zara Phillips conquers the worldAfter a tremendously exciting Jumping round in the great Aachen arena, Zara Phillips and Toy Town are the 2006 World Eventing Champions (46.70). Australia’s Clayton Fredericks aboard Ben Along Time takes the silver (48.80) and Amy Tryon and Poggio are in bronze (50.70). With all the winners within a fence, one may say that it was a tight finish indeed. The result was not known until the very last rider – Zara Phillips who was in the lead after Dressage and Cross Country – had jumped the last obstacle.Read more

26 August 2006
Zara Toys in TownThe Cross Country of the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games held all its promises: it was fabulous, exciting, difficult, technical, tricky, all at once. It certainly was a selective one testing every quality of the horse, from freshness and honesty to fitness and stamina. At the end of a fantastic clear round, Zara Phillips (GRB) and Toy Town are in the lead on their Dressage score of 41.70. Germany’s Bettina Hoy and Ringwood Cockatoo are close seconds exactly 2 points behind (43.70).Read more

25 August 2006
Bettina Hoy in the lead after DressageThe Dressage phase of the Eventing competition was completed today. Bettina Hoy (GER) aboard Ringwood Cockatoo is in the lead with a remarkable 36.50. “It was amazing to see so many fans cheering with German flags all over. It was hard, but I remained focused on Dressage,” Bettina said. She, as a true supporter of her own nation, has died parts of her hair in the colours of the German flag and is very much part of the bright atmosphere.Read more

2006 FEI World Equestrian Games Update: Dressage

25 August 2006
Isabell Werth (GER) wins the Grand Prix SpecialIsabell Werth (GER) and her 12-year old gelding Satchmo rode the Grand Prix Special of a lifetime. With a result of 79.480, they are World Champions. “It was the best test I’ve ever ridden,” a very emotional Isabell declared. “We made no mistakes; I can’t tell you what a feeling that is.” This result is all the more rewarding given the impossibly difficult horse Satchmo used to be. He would rear in the middle of test never giving his rider a chance.Read more
