2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games Adds Director of External Relations

The World Games 2010 Foundation announced that it has added Terry Johnson as its Director of External Relations. Johnson assumes the post after serving for two years as Executive Director of the Kentucky Sports Authority in Frankfurt. Mr. Johnson will be responsible for managing all community, organizational and public relations efforts of the Games. “We are very excited to add Terry to our staff,” stated Jack Kelly, CEO of the World Games Foundation.Read more

Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010 Announces Athlete’s Advisory Committee

In order to ensure that the needs and concerns of the equestrian world’s best athletes are addressed at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG), the World Games 2010 Foundation, Inc., the organization in charge of putting on the Games, has formed an Athlete’s Advisory Committee. This committee will provide input to Games organizers from some of the equestrian world’s most experienced athletes.Read more

Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010 Adds CFO

The World Games 2010 Foundation, Inc. has added Marty Mathews as its Chief Financial Officer for the Foundation’s signature event, the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games - to be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in the fall of 2010. Mathews’ primary roles with the 2010 Games will be handling all financial and accounting duties as well as developing and managing the overall Games ticket program. Mathews has extensive experience both within the horse industry and with large sporting events.Read more

Results of the doping tests conducted at the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games

The FEI announces today the results of the doping tests conducted at the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games. HORSES Escudo Fox, the vaulting horse used by Sissi Jarz (AUT) and lunged by Julia Nöbauer (AUT), bronze medal in the Individual Female Vaulting event, was selected for sampling on 26 August 2006. Analysis of the horse’s initial urine sample revealed the presence of metabolites of acepromazine, a sedative. Acepromazine is a prohibited substance according to FEI rules, and is classified under “Medication Class A” in the FEI Equine Prohibited List of substances.Read more

A Sign of Things to Come

Last October, Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher unveiled a prototype of highway signs that will be placed in prominent locations throughout Kentucky promoting the state as the home of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. The project is a joint effort between the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Kentucky Commerce Cabinet’s Department of Tourism and FEI World Equestrian Games officials.Read more
