LOOSER AND WIEGELE TAKE INAUGURAL FEI WORLD CUP™ VAULTING TITLES

Switzerland's Patric Looser and Germany's Simone Wiegele claimed the inaugural FEI World Cup™ Vaulting titles at the 2010/2011 FEI World Cup™ Finals in Leipzig, Germany this afternoon.Looser was under pressure, having finished second to Nicolas Andreani from France in yesterday's first Freestyle competition. But the 26 year old reigning World Champion from St Gallen, who won three of the four qualifying rounds over the winter months, produced a superb performance to put the result beyond doubt today.

Frenchman Nicolas Andreani and Germany’s Simone Wiegele were the winners in the first round of the inaugural FEI World Cup™ Vaulting Final in Leipzig (GER) this evening.
In the Male section Andreani, bronze medallist at last year's Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ in Kentucky, pipped world champion Patric Looser from Switzerland, while Wiegele, bronze medallist in the Female event at the US fixture, edged out fellow-countrywoman and Kentucky silver medallist Antje Hill.

The inaugural FEI World Cup™ Vaulting Final promises to be a real thriller with a stellar line-up of seven female and seven male vaulters, who will battle it out in a Freestyle-to-Music climax.

AUSTRIANS AND GERMANS REIGN SUPREME
The Open European Junior Vaulting Championships were held at the fabulous venue of Stadl Paura (AUT) from 4-8 August 2010. Only the weather was set against the Organising Committee, but not even that could spoil a terrific event. After the parade of the 16 competing nations, the opening addresses and several show performances, the FEI Delegate Bettina de Rham officially opened the Championships.
