One-two finish for Italy at opening leg on FEI World Cup™ Vaulting
9 November 2012Anna Cavallaro (ITA) and Lukas Klouda (CZE) are the first winners of the FEI World Cup™ Vaulting new 2012/13 season. Cavallaro, 26, and Klouda, 28, received the highest scores after two quality Freestyle-to-Music rounds at the series opening leg held in Munich (GER) last weekend. Italy secured a one-two finish in the women’s competition as Silvia Stopazzini took second place on a final score of 8.602 behind Cavallaro (8.797).

The FEI World Vaulting Championships 2012, which were held in the horse sport centre Boulerie Jump in Le Mans, France (15-19 August) attracted a field of more than 150 athletes, 50 lungers and 56 horses from 17 nations. The Championships saw vaulters compete over five demanding days for squad and individual titles (male and female), as well as the top spot for the Pas-de-Deux, which was introduced for the first time this year in a World Championship.

Over 130 athletes, 40 lungers and 54 horses from 15 nations have competed in the FEI Open European Junior Vaulting Championships 2012 (1-5 August) in the Areál Zdravia Rozálka equestrian centre in Pezinok, Slovakia.
The Championships saw vaulters aged between 7 and 18 compete over five demanding days to claim the Team and Individual titles, as well as the top spot for the Pas-de-Deux, which was introduced for the first time this year.
