FEI SEMINAR FOR FEI TECHNICAL DELEGATES IN JUMPING IN LEIPZIG
During the 2011 FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final in April in Leipzig, the FEI invited the FEI Technical Delegates in Jumping for a two-day seminar. The purpose of this seminar was to redefine the role of the Technical Delegate at major FEI events in relation to the other officials and stakeholders.
One of the outcomes of this seminar will be the production of a job description for the Technical Delegate so that rights and responsibilities are clearly defined. This document will be complemented by a detailed check list which will help identify whether certain standards have been met.
Therefore several high level experts were invited to speak about the relationship between the Technical Delegate and the respective experts, known issues and suggestions for future improvements such as:
The role of the Technical Delegate in Jumping (Leopoldo Palacios), Event Organisation (Chair of FEI Dressage Committee and Director of CHIO Aachen Frank Kemperman), Judging (Sven Holmberg), Course Design (Olaf Petersen), Footing (Lars Roepstorff), Time Keeping (Arend Tolner), Stewarding (Frances Hesketh-Jones Triulzi), Veterinary Issues (FEI 1st Vice President and Chair of FEI Veterinary Committee John McEwen), Entry System (Andreas Steidle), Transportation (Martin Atock) and Communication (FEI Director Press Relations Grania Willis).
The seminar was conducted by Mr Leopoldo Palacios in cooperation with FEI Executive Director Education and Standards Dr Harald Muller.
