THE ELITE OF FEI JUMPING COURSE DESIGNERS MEET IN LEIPZIG
On 2 May, immediately after the 2011 FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final in Leipzig, the FEI invited the FEI Level 4 Course Designers to a one-day meeting. From the total of 27 listed Course Designers, 18 attended this meeting, which was the first of its kind. Its purpose was to exchange experience, review the latest developments worldwide and discuss recommendations for further improvement of Course Design in Jumping.
FEI Course Director General for Course Design Mr Werner Deeg and FEI Executive Director Education and Standards Dr Harald Muller jointly conducted the meeting. The Chair of the FEI Jumping Committee, Mr John Madden, participated too.
The agenda was prepared by the Course Designers themselves and contained several current topics such as modern trends in Course Design, measuring the length of courses, use of water jump, safety cups, regional Course Designer representatives and an update on the FEI Education System for Course Designers.
A corresponding report will be forwarded to the FEI Jumping Committee and Jumping Department.
This meeting will be organised every two years as an integral part of the FEI Education System for Jumping Course Designers, which was implemented in 2009.
