FEI launches new online Entry System for Jumping Events

2 January 2013

FEI World Cup™ Jumping qualifiers in New Zealand at Dannevirke (4-6 January) and Waitemata (12-13 January) will be the first events to use the newly launched FEI online Entry System for Jumping Events. The system allows National Federations and organising committees to manage the entries of athletes and horses in CSIs through a single online platform.

The new system has been designed to improve the automation and exchange of data between the FEI and the NFs with a developed IT system, and will also provide IT tools to NFs that do not already have their own entries database. The system will make communication between the organising committees, NFs and the FEI easier and will ensure a better quality and traceability of data.

Checking the eligibility of athletes and horses prior to events and managing results after events have ended are additional bonuses of the new system.

The system will be launched gradually, starting with CSI1*-W Dannevirke (NZL) held from 4 to 6 January 2013.

Dannevirke is a pretty agricultural service town situated in the south of the sunny Hawkes Bay wine region, two hours’ drive north of New Zealand’s capital Wellington. The popular CSI-W is held at the picturesque showgrounds, with its historic grandstand overlooking the main tree lined oval, and is the traditional start of the second half of the Jumping season in New Zealand.

Equestrian Sports New Zealand secretary general Jim Ellis is excited about the prospect of New Zealand being the first nation to use the new FEI online Entry System for Jumping Events. “The FEI’s new online system will offer show organising committees and national federations greater flexibility and ease in organising FEI events and we hope that the first event at Dannevirke is a success,” he commented.

National Federations will be using the online system to enter events in the United Arab Emirates in January, Portugal, the USA, Germany, and France in February and March, and Belgium, the Netherlands, Guatemala, and Austria in April. The objective is to have all FEI Jumping events managed through the system by July 2013. The calendar of the gradual launch is available at this link.

“It is a great satisfaction for the FEI to launch the new online Entry System for Jumping Events,” said FEI Secretary General Ingmar De Vos. “Putting it in place has been a lengthy process and we hope that the system will simplify and improve the level of service provided to the National Federations and event organisers, making data management faster and more reliable. The system is currently available for Jumping, which is the FEI’s biggest discipline, but it is our long term goal to progressively adapt it to all our disciplines.”

Detailed information on the FEI online Entry System for Jumping Events is available on the FEI website here.
