MARY KING TOPS THE HSBC RANKINGS
1 July 2011HSBC, in partnership with the FEI, has created a rider armband to identify the current leader in the HSBC Rankings.
The red and white armband featuring “HSBC Eventing World Rankings Leader” will be debuted by Mary King (GBR), remaining with her for as long as she stays at the top of the HSBC Rankings. The armband will be passed on if King is overtaken in the rankings.
In a further initiative, the rider at the top of the HSBC Rankings at the end of the 2011 Eventing season will receive a 50,000 USD bonus.

28 June 2011Reigning World Champion Michael Jung (GER) has established his position on the 2011 FEI World Cup™ Eventing rankings after scoring an emphatic one-two at Strzegom (POL), the fourth leg of the series.
In a remarkable record, Jung, the reigning Series Champion from 2010 and winner of the 2009 FEI World Cup™ Eventing Final in Strzegom was winning at this leading Polish venue for the third consecutive time.

18 June 2011Piggy French (GBR) galloped through pouring rain on her appropriately named 10-year-old Irish gelding Flying Machine to take the lead after Cross-Country at Luhmühlen, presented by E.ON Avacon (GER), the third leg of the HSBC FEI Classics™.
The leaderboard has changed substantially and now the cost of just one Jumping fence covers the top four riders, ensuring a thrilling day’s sport tomorrow. French is highly competent in this phase, but she has no margin for error if she is to score her longed-for first CCI4* victory.

17 June 2011Frank Ostholt (GER) is back in the limelight at Luhmühlen, presented by E.ON Avacon (GER), a competition he won back in 2006 on probably his best known horse, Air Jordan.
Ostholt, 35, an Olympic team gold medallist in Hong Kong in 2008, heads an international field at the third leg of the HSBC FEI Classics™ 2011 series on Little Paint, a 13-year-old gelding by Nitron, on which he took second place at Luhmühlen three years ago.
