IN MEMORIAM: ADRIENNE HOFER (DEN), 1958-2013
Adrienne Hofer (DEN), Chair of the Danish Eventing Committee since 2007 and Danish National Safety Officer for Eventing, has died following an accident. She was 54.
She was one of the leading lights in the FEI National Safety Officer community, and also worked closely with the Danish Equestrian Federation on improving safety at Eventing competitions and in riding schools.
As owner of the Hylke Equestrian Centre, the first riding club to be certified by the Danish Equestrian Federation, Adrienne Hofer also fulfilled her passion for promoting Para-Equestrian sport by providing extensive services for disabled riders.
Catrin Norinder, FEI Director, Eventing & Olympic said: “Adrienne has worked closely with the FEI since 2008, when the first FEI Eventing Safety Forum was hosted by the Danish Equestrian Federation in Copenhagen.
“Her longstanding commitment to improving safety was well-known. She has inspired many people with her vibrant personality and dedication to the cause - she will be very sorely missed.”
The FEI expresses its sincere condolences to Adrienne Hofer’s family, to the Danish Equestrian Federation and the international Eventing community.
A memorial service will be held on Easter Monday (1 April) at 14.00 at the Hylke Equestrian Centre, Hylkevej 46, 8660 Skanderborg, Denmark.
