Series and Events in Driving
Driving is the oldest competitive equestrian sport. In 2010, there were 152 Driving and 1 Para-Equestrian Driving International events held around the world (for more statistics, check out the FEI Annual Report. FEI World Equestrian Games™
The FEI World Equestrian Games™ are held every four years in the even years between the Olympic Games. In 2010, the Games did cross the Atlantic for the very first time and were held in Kentucky (USA). For more information, click here. Created in 2001, the FEI World Cup™ Driving series tests the determination and skill of the best drivers in the world. The 2011/2012 season had qualifiers lead towards the FEI World Cup™ Driving Final, that was held in February 2012 in Bordeaux (FRA) alongside the FEI World Cup Vaulting Final. Both the Top Driver Award in effect Driving Standings is based upon results achieved in FEI competitions. The Top Driver Award is based on results from all CAI-A events and CAIOs to achieve placings or standings. Points are awarded to drivers based upon their final classification at the event linked to the number of drivers taking part.
