DRIVING WEEKLY UPDATES - 2012
UPDATE - WEEK 46/2012
The KNHS-centre in Ermelo, the Netherlands, was the centre of international combined driving from 9 to 11 November. Over 70 judges, stewards and technical delegates from 15 different nations attended the official FEI Course.
Course Directors Diana Brownlie (GBR), Philip Bateman (GBR) and Jan and Leen Devaere (BEL) directed the various courses. The FEI Course started on Friday afternoon 9 November with intake exams. Practical parts in the indoor arena, the outdoor arena and the marathon obstacles at Ermelo followed the theoretical parts on Saturday morning. Dutch four-in-hand driver Hans Heus and Claudio Fumagalli and Antonio Rigamonti from Team Riant presented several turnouts and showed parts of the dressage tests, amongst which the new FEI Test 11. The movements were judged and discussed by the judges. The Technical Delegates commented and discussed the marathon obstacles. The Stewards discussed the bits, harness and the presentation of the different turnouts, which were presented in both dressage and marathon outfit. The group very much enjoyed the visit to the Royal Stables in The Hague on Saturday afternoon. After the theoretical parts on Sunday, the Course ended with the final exams for the TD's and the Stewards, which all attendees successfully passed.
