She was born in Hong Kong, China and lived in the United States of America before moving to Australia with her family at age 11. She relocated to the Netherlands in May 2011 in order to prepare for the 2012 Olympic Games in London with fellow Australian showjumper Edwina Tops-Alexander. By 2016 she was living in Bonn, Germany.
