Other information CAREER
He bought his first horse at age 13 and soon realised he wanted to become a professional rider. His family then went on to experience financial problems and he was forced to sell his horse, withdraw membership from his riding club and drop out of university. He decided to move to Europe and work minor jobs until he found employment as a groom at Ludo Philippaerts' yard in Belgium. He returned to Brazil to become a horse trader in 2001, and in 2004 he began importing horses from Europe. In 2014 he set up a stable in Belgium, near Opglabbeek, however at the beginning of 2017 he moved to Venlo, Netherlands. In 2010 having already qualified for the World Cup Final in Geneva, Switzerland, his horse Ideal de Balia died from colic meaning he had to withdraw from the event. (reitsportnews.at, 12 Apr 2011)

He is known for wearing a yellow jacket during competitions. "A group of horsemen used to work for me in my business of horse trading. Then they became rivals and we had potentially the same clients. So I wanted to differentiate myself. I always thought that the jacket of the Brazilian team had to be yellow." (yurimansur.com, 26 Nov 2016)
