General Interest
Famous relatives His daughters Estelle and Laurene have ridden in international jumping events. His father Alain Navet competed in equestrian at international level, and was selected for the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo but suffered a broken ankle and could not go to the Games. (, 23 Jan 2017;, 05 Aug 2016; 29 Jan 2004)
Ambitions To compete alongside his student Karl Cook at the 2018 World Cup Final in Paris, France. (, 30 Mar 2017)
His qualification for the World Cup Final in 2017 - his first appearance at the event since 1992 - came as a surprise, as he was concentrating on his coaching career in San Diego, CA, United States of America. "The last time I took part in this event it was in 1992. I accompanied Karl Cook to the qualification event for the finals, and I only entered the competition to guide him and show him what to do, and we both ended up qualifying. It was not necessarily planned for me, but it is a real pleasure to be there. Karl's goal is to take the maximum experience out of such a great competition. As far as I'm concerned, I am going there just for fun." (, 30 Mar 2017)
