The FEI President presents Jenny Ellis with the first ever FEI Best Groom Award, in Buenos Aires (ARG), 21 November 2008

The 2008 FEI General Assembly concluded with a wonderful Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony at the Sociedad Rural in Buenos Aires.

Part of the programme for the evening’s events, included the discerning of a new Award - FEI Best Groom. This much deserved and great distinction went to Great Britain’s Jenny Ellis, a highly accomplished and experienced groom whose dedication to equestrian sport has been outstanding.

It has been a particularly busy year for Jenny Ellis, having attended both the Olympic and Paralympic Games. For the Paralympic Games, Jenny took on the duel role of personal groom to Felicity Coulthard (a ride she had never worked with before) and Stable Manager for the GB Para-Equestrian Dressage Team as well as being the lead ‘flying groom’ accompanying the seven British horses out to and back from Hong Kong.

The evening also paid tribute by presenting to Harvey Smith, the legendary show jumper from Great Britain, the FEI Special Recognition for Outstanding Services.
