FEI WORLD DRESSAGE CHALLENGE - THE COMPETITION

2007 FEI World Dressage Challenge - Clinic with FEI Judge: Mrs Jayne Ayers (USA)

Competition Breakdown

  • Countries participating in the FEI World Dressage Challenge are divided geographical zones composed of maximum six countries.
  • Countries are offered five performance levels, i.e. Prix St-Georges, Advanced, Medium, Elementary and Preliminary (Children). Five separate ranking lists are established.
  • The Competition is held between individuals and teams within each Group.

Individual Competition

  • Each Zone is judged separately. The winner of each level in each Zone is the competitor having the highest total points.

Team Competition

  • Within each Zone, the winning team is the one having the highest total points based on the best three results.

“In all Fairness”

  • Competitive equality is created by having all athletes within a Zone execute the same tests - adjudicated by the same Ground Jury. The Ground Jury consists of two FEI experienced judges.

Development of the Sport

  • In addition to the competition itself, the Ground Jury also offers competitors practical and theoretical instruction at a Clinic following the event.

The Challenge is usually held between March and April and mid-September and mid-November.
